Future of the workplace and the Government Estate

Professor Nick Dunn was recently invited to contribute to the workshop, Future of the workplace and the Government Estate, held in London on 3rd December 2018. The event was run by the Cabinet Office's Open Innovation Team, who help Whitehall departments generate analysis and ideas by deepening collaboration with academics. Nick's involvement forms part of his ongoing work on futures and examining alternatives beyond current path dependencies.

Future of the workplace and the Government Estate

The objectives of the workshop were to explore the following:
1.What are the trends influencing the future of the workplace?
2.What can we learn from workplaces (and corresponding firms) and countries at the forefront of using these trends?
3.What are the latest well-being and productivity trends we should consider? How do we measure this?
4.How should Government reflect these trends in its Estate Strategy?
5.How do we move away from a square meterage (6sqm) approach?
