Iona is Teaching Associate on the MA in Design Management and close to completion of her PhD in the area of sustainable urban design decision-making. Iona has worked as a researcher on a number of research projects which have investigated the use and applications of advanced ICT in the area of urban planning and city development. Iona is a co-author of the book Designing Sustainable Cities (2009) and joint co-author of the International Journal paper in Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design CSCWD A VR Centred Workspace for Supporting Collaborative Urban Planning. Her research interests include urban design, planning and applications of advanced ICT to the area of urban design and planning practice.

An Investigation into contemporary design management and the role of the design manager in contemporary business environments.

Can Decision-Trees Contribute to Sustainable Urban Design Decisions

An investigation into whether decision-tree modelling can be used to contribute to urban design decision-making using 3 regeneration projects in the West End of Morecambe as case studies.
