Zoe Bolton

Research Development Manager

Zoe is the ImaginationLancaster Research Development Manager and has been supporting the team with external research funding applications since November 2019. She has worked at Lancaster University in research development roles since 2018 and, in addition to her post in ImaginationLancaster, currently has specific responsibility for interdisciplinary research in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and is the Commissioning Fund Manager on the Wellcome-funded ‘Future of Human Reproduction’ programme. Previously, Zoe was a consultant on an AHRC-funded project, ‘Litcraft’, which won a Lancaster University Award for outstanding impact. She has taught on a variety of courses in the Department of English Literature and Creative Writing, where she completed her AHRC-funded PhD on Romanticism and Travel in 2010, and she was a researcher on a British Academy project ‘Mapping the Lakes: A Literary GIS’. In the past, Zoe has worked in marketing and public relations, as a news and health journalist for the national press, and in education.
