DeEP Consortium meeting – Mälardalen University, Sweden, October 2012

DeEP Consortium members debate the European design innovation policy eco-system at intense 2-day workshop

Date Published: 01 October 2012

The DeEP Consortium recently met for an intense 2-day workshop in Mälardalen University, Sweden. Chaired by Prof. Roberto Verganti, consortium member and European Design Leadership Board member, the workshop reviewed progress to date and set out plans for the next 6 months of the project. The workshop considered some of the key challenges facing design innovation policy makers across Europe.

Focussing on macro-policy issues, Lancaster University in conjunction with The Work Foundation have been developing a European design innovation policy landscape which will inform the development of a taxonomy of design innovation policy. Politechnico di Milano and Mälardalen University have adopted a micro-policy focus undertaking case studies of the impact of design innovation policy upon SMEs.

The DeEP project is revealing the diversity of the design innovation policy eco-system across Europe with many different models of support for design innovation evident. As the DeEP project develops, we will provide updates of our research and associated publications.
