Two Funded PhD Studentships available

Reducing health inequalities through embedding community participation and co-production in public health systems

Date Published: 04 November 2021

We are pleased to invite applications for two funded PhD studentships (full or part-time). Deadline for applications is 5pm on the 18th November 2021.

These two PhD studentships, funded through the NIHR, will focus on  “Reducing health inequalities through embedding community participation and co-production in public health systems“. One will be embedded in health care, and the second will be embedded in the CVS and/or voluntary sector. This is a great opportunity to work with Distinguished Professor Jenny Popay and Professor Leon Cruickshank from Lancaster University, and Dr Andy Knox Director of Population Health and Engagement for Bay Health and Care, as well as a wider academic supervisory team from Liverpool and Cambridge Universities.

From the NIHR news announcement

Today, we have launched our PhD studentship competition, which offers a flexible opportunity to start a PhD in April 2022 for part-time applicants (studentships up to 5 years part-time) and by October 2022 for full-time applicants (3 year studentships). Applications are invited from individuals who wish to develop a career in public health research. Our goal is to recruit outstanding and diverse candidates across the full range of studentships. We are committed to a supportive, inclusive, caring and positive community and welcome applications from disabled people and those of different cultures, genders, ages, ethnicities and beliefs.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in a discipline relevant to public health research and will be expected to complete a PhD during the award period.

Please read the information below for further information about the studentships and how to apply. If you have any questions please do contact Professor Leon Cruickshank (l.cruickshank@lancaster.ac.uk) or Distinguished Professor Jennie Popay (j.popay@lancaster.ac.uk)

DEADLINE IS 5PM ON THE 18TH NOVEMBER 2021
