Reimagining Inclusive and Community-Centred Research

Highlights from Research Culture Week 2025

Date Published: 08 October 2025

Reimagining Inclusive and Community-Centred Research, the interactive exhibition was held for three days as a part of Research Culture Week 2025 at Lancaster University. The exhibition highlighted the inclusion strand in the Reimagining Research Practices (RRP) project, showcasing stories, principles, and tools co-created with researchers working alongside marginalised and disadvantaged communities.

Visitors were invited to explore and give us feedback on:

  • Inclusive Research Practices – Insights from interviews and focus groups across all four faculties, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and shared values. Also, the Working Principles Dice for inclusive and community-centred research were presented.

  • The CREDIT Toolkit – A practical digital resource to support community-engaged research. Visitors were invited to view the beta version of the toolkit on-site and were asked to provide feedback on it.

  • The Next Step – A preview of our forthcoming graphic novel with Arc Studio, bringing the lived experiences of researchers and communities to life through illustration.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to continue building opportunities to connect with the broader research community and co-create approaches to more inclusive and community-engaged research. For this, we’re planning a series of co-design sessions in November 2025 to explore the Working Principles for Inclusive and Community-Centred Research in depth.
