Jesse Benjamin

Research Associate

Jesse combines design research with philosophy of technology to analyse and study how emerging technologies reconfigure the relationship between people and their world(s). Through his Master of Research (MRes) from the University of Brighton and PhD research in Philosophy of Technology at the University of Twente, Jesse developed a research approach that pays attention to both technical specificities as well as the ways in which specific constellations of technology, people and context bring about specific phenomena. Jesse is particularly interested in developing generative metaphors for AI technologies that unfold the latter for design engagement rather than solutionist engineering; an approach that he pursues under the label of ‘entoptic media’ (https://entoptic.media/).
