Businesses pitch international R&D projects to students

Lancaster China Catalyst Programme Businesses meet masters Students on the MSc International Innovation program to develop International R&D projects

Date Published: 18 February 2015

The final presentations of businesses involved in the Lancaster China Catalyst Programme have occurred. These sessions involved 11 LCCP UK companies presenting possible design briefs to students on joint UK and China R&D projects. Students then formed multidisciplinary groups and responded to the brief by stating the steps they will be taking to achieve the objectives set by the companies and provided suggestions to add more value to the company. The groups of students presented at the end of the session and received feedback from the audience.

The focus of the projects are on the design of new, and adaptation of existing products, for international markets from the low carbon, advanced manufacturing and the digital creative sectors, to underpin sustainable urban development in China. Example projects include the development of decentralised Solar PV systems BBOX, and electric car suspension system Far UK, and super efficient filters that are 3D printed Croft Fillters
