Investing in a healthy and happy society and personalising healthcare and wellbeing is a key aim for all governments. We live longer but more stressful and less physically active lives, that result in increasing costs for healthcare.  The recent budget cuts in healthcare along with the expansion in the use of smartphone apps has created a unique opportunity for innovation.

This design jam explores the health, demographic and wellbeing challenges and opportunities to create innovate products and services to enhance the health and wellbeing of the residents of cities.

You will be:

  • Learning more about the challenges and opportunities in the areas of health and wellbeing;
  • Learning more about people-centred design;
  • Collaborating with other businesses to develop ideas;
  • Developing innovative products and services.

The day will be a mixture of inspirational talks from businesses and leading thinkers in this field and competitive teamwork. Mentors will be there to help teams share their ideas to a panel of industry experts. The winning team will receive access to experts support to develop their concept further.

Previous experience of design is not a requirement to participate in this exciting event. All aspects of the intellectual property of the work produced during the Cities Design Jam are owned by the team members that developed them.
