Making of our first proof-of-concept prototype

Interactive Xylophone prototype: music, fun and exercise in the park

Date Published: 19 June 2014

Following the exciting ideas and prototypes developed in the 2nd Active Parks Workshop the team has been working hard to developing the first version of the Xylophone concept.

The Xylophone prototype would be very interactive, playful and musical! It would offer park users an engaging way of exercising whilst creating their own music and having fun. One would be able to interact with it either through a mobile phone or simply by touching the coloured slats (see design sketches) to generate diffrent sounds. One or more people would be able to play at the same time.

Videos of the digital technology we would be using can be found below.

If you would like to have a go at our first Xylophone prototype and create some exciting music in the process, simply visit us in Ryelands park during the “This Side of The River” celebration event on Saturday the 28th of June between 3-6pm.
