Exploring ‘Services in the City’ – Design Jam No.2

Date Published: 24 March 2014

The unique one-day event welcomed guest speakers Dr Andrew Hudson-Smith [Director and Deputy Chair of the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, UCL] and Chris Downs [Chief of No-One] who provided two inspirational talks to set the scene for the days activities. Participants, were then asked to critically probe and examine contemporary themes surrounding services in the city. Dr Leon Cruickshank was on hand to guide and manage (cajole!) the small teams, identifying themes and issues that were later developed in the afternoons session.

At the end of the day, five teams presented their ideas to the judging panel (and in particular to Philip Ternouth, Innovation Manager, Fusion) which it is anticipated they will be taken forward for further refinement and development within the Fusion programme.

The next Design Jam will take place towards the end of April, critically examining ‘Health and Wellbeing’ in the city…so watch this space!
