Imagination in £2million Horizon project to help communities work with 100 living labs across Europe to improve our soils.

As part of the landmark Soil-Deal for Europe, SOILL-STARTUP is the first in a series of support schemes for the implementation of the ambitious objectives of the Horizon Europe Mission. The aim is to establish 100 Soil Health Living Labs and Lighthouse projects. The project runs across 2024 and 2025 and aims to support and empower a growing soil health community in Europe. Lancaster University are one of the supporting organisations in this exciting project with a focus on new engagement and inclusion activities, helping communities have a real say in the stewardship, improvement and protection of soils.

Professor Leon Cruickshank and Lee Brewster will be working closely with 28 partners, spread across 12 countries, over the next two years. Lancaster University have been invited into the project to share their expertise in collaborative working methods and creative exchange. They will be supporting organisations, communities and individuals who aim to work collaboratively to envisage a sustainable and equitable future for themselves.
