Commissioning and Design event

Event bringing together Service Designers and GPs to exchange views and practices related to the newly developed programme of GP Commissioning

Date Published: 08 February 2011

‘GP Commissioning and Design’ was a half-day event that brought together Service Designers and GPs to exchange views and practices related to the newly developed programme of GP Commissioning. The event provided an overview of GP commissioning with examples of Design interventions and GP driven projects.

During the event we presented findings from our recently concluded research project focused on Practice Based Commissioning, which highlighted the need for a collaborative and creative
framework defined as ‘Community-centred Commissioning’. Practical exercises and open conversations among designers and doctors explored current challenges and approaches from both perspectives.

The event has been sponsored by EPSRC Pathways to Impact Award.
