Imaginative North, Lancaster University – 21 November 2013

N8 'New Thinking from the North' network holds its fourth workshop in Lancaster

Date Published: 21 November 2013

Creativity and innovation occur at the boundaries of our imagination. But how do we channel this to develop our ideas and research? This fourth event in the N8 series will aim to illustrate the power of the creative imagination and how it can be used to address research challenges, drawing on practice based research in the arts and design in the North. In this special event we will explore how the creative use of words, image and interaction can address these topics. This will include a hands-on workshop using collaborative digital tools designed at Imagination with the objective of demonstrating how creative play and radical thinking can change the way we imagine our future.

We are delighted to announce that Sir Christopher Frayling will be joining us to provide a keynote provocation titled ‘What can the ‘R’ word do for the Arts and Humanities?’ and provide a catalyst for us to:

  • Imagine the future landscape of research in the Arts and Humanities
  • Creatively interact with new methods and tools to develop ideas
  • Explore the North’s collaborative and research future

Registration for the event is available at: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/9177334655
