Mobilise! project launches online Active Citizenship course

Date Published: 28 October 2020

In case you missed our Active Citizenship online course launch on 27 October 2020, here is a link to our live Facebook stream of the event. It was great to see so many people at the launch and to share what we’ve been working on, as part of the Mobilise! project (which was borne out of the Remembering Resistance project).

Mobilise! is an ESRC Impact and Acceleration Award project that ran from 2019-20. Through the project, we wanted to encourage active citizenship and increase people’s confidence about engaging in political and civic life. We explored historical and contemporary stories of activism, taken from the Documenting Dissent and Remembering Resistance projects, to create relevant online resources and activities that asylum seekers and refugees to Lancaster and the UK might use.

The project was a partnership between Global Link, a development education charity who work with asylum seekers and refugees based in Lancaster, a team of volunteers and staff in Design and Politics at Lancaster University.
