Continuing the collaboration begun as a result of the Adapting Together Symposium in November 2022, our UK-wide group of early career researchers have met twice this year so far, with other activities in the process of being planned.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by a widely dispersed group with multiple responsibilities our first meeting in January 2023 was online. However, at the end of March 2023 we managed to get together a few of the researchers in-person to take part in talks, discussions, and training which will enhance their skills in preparation for their amazing futures.
The talks ranged from Dr Chris Boyko sharing his experiences collaborating on various projects, through Dr David Perez discussing being part of the team leading EAD 2021, to the Beyond Imagination Impact Manager, Gemma Coupe, sharing best practices for measuring and evaluating impact of research projects. We also had a demonstration and workshop about the Evaluation Visualisation Design (EViD) Tool the Imagination Evaluation Team has developed.
After lunch, where we invited the wider Imagination team to meet everyone, there was a relaxed discussion led by Sharon Summers, Engagement and Knowledge Exchange Manager, which covered mapping existing and future networks needed to bring projects to life, followed by thinking about how to maximise your profile, and social media best practises.
Later in the year we have been invited by two members of the ECR Network to hold an in-person session at Heriot-Watt University, Galashiels. We are also planning online workshops and training this year.
