Funding Accelerator: Our fourth bid writing workshop

Date Published: 26 April 2018

Held in Blackburn Library our fourth workshop was a different format to the ones we’d held previously.

In response to questions regarding funding sources we dedicated the major part of the session to discussing different places to access funding for projects and the characteristics and opportunities for each.

Professor Leon Cruickshank shared ideas and examples for the RCUK and EU funding, Ken Barnsley, the Public Health Specialist at Blackburn with Darwen Council, discussed Local Authority funding, and Sharon Jackson, Design Manager at ImaginationLancaster, talked about small grants available from charitable organisations and trusts.

After tea and coffee we had presentations from those who were already preparing bid proposals to show how things were progressing and have a discussion around what they needed to take the next step forward and if other attendees could help or make suggestions.

The event finished with time for networking over lunch.

Our next workshop is a full day event at Lancaster University Imagination Lab on the 30th May 2018. We will be focused on enabling those with bids already started to get closer to submitting their proposal for funding consideration.
