It’s been a busy two months since the project restarted, I’ve been spending the time catching up with our project partners as well as organising our launch event and planning next year’s workshops.
As a result of our excellent launch event we have now got a series of events planned for the first half of 2019, the first one being held on the 22nd January at the Imagination Lab in the LICA Building.
One of the great things I’ve learned from our current set of bid writers is firstly how pleased they are that the project received further funding and they will continue to get supported. Secondly, that from the first six months of learning and collaborating so many of them found confidence to not only write the bids they initially thought of but also continue to write other proposals wich they might never have done had they not had our support through that first one.
Another ‘side-effect’ of the first six months of this project was that so many of the attendees have made connections and formed collaborations with people they may never have met – and they continue to do so. As new ideas and projects arise they have now a wider network of like-minded people for discussion, support, and potential project partners. This has sparked a conversation about creating an informal network, probably via social media, to not only share information and advice but also for support and encouragement as our partners feel that this is an important aspect to develop.
